4. Judging is taken seriously and we will do our best to attract qualified BJCP and other experienced judges. At least two judges will judge each entry.

5. HOP is soliciting qualified judges and stewards for the competition. This sanctioned event will yield Beer Judge Certification Program points. Contact the head judge if you would like to serve, John Martin, fmh3@yahoo.com. Judges will also receive favors and entry to the Peoria Jaycees International Beer Festival the following day. This event is one of the largest beer festivals in the United States with attendance last year of over 6,000 people and 6 Homebrew Clubs.

7. Entries will be stored upon receipt in a walk in refrigerator at drinking temperature until the competition. Handling will be minimized to avoid disturbing bottle conditioned beers.

8. Winners will receive ribbons for first, second, and third places in each style category. Judges alone are responsible for determining whether an entry is deserving of an award. The judging committee will combine subcategories as necessary to allow competition. Generally at least 6 entries will be required for a full set of awards. There will also be a Best of Show prize from the winners of each style subcategory. All decisions by the judges, competition staff and organizer are final and the responsibility of the organizers and sponsor.
